We find the matte finish a huge plus.  We are also pleased that the remote is comfortable to hold.

The buttons on the remote include a back button, home, D-pad, rewind, search, voice, play/pause, quick rewind, fast forward, and confirm.  There are also buttons for Sling TV, Playstation Vue, Hulu, and Netflix.

Design

We find simple to be the best for any streaming device.  This is why we love the Fire TV Stick 4K design.

It is clean and small enough to handle.  We found it to fit right into our hands.

The black plastic bar is rectangular in shape and weighs just under 2 ounces.  It measures 3.9 X 1.18 X .55 inches.

With the remote, you are now allowed to change the volume.  This was not available in the previous version.

Not only can you change the volume on the TV, but also the soundbar and the AV receiver.

Setting up your Fire TV Stick 4K is just as simple as the Roku Streaming Stick +.  Three easy steps and you are done.

  1. Plug the Fire Stick into your HDTV.
  2. Plug it into the closest wall outlet.

Picture Quality and Audio

We fell in love with the high-quality images that were displayed.  They were vivid and bright and had exceptional clarity.

Audio that is supported for the Fire TV Stick 4K includes Dolby Atmos, 7.1 surround sound, 2-channel stereo, and HDMI audio pass through up to 5.1. Dolby Atmos is not currently supported on Netflix titles.

Apps

The Fire  TV Stick 4K also has a wide variety of apps that are compatible with it. We liked using Crackle, which is free, to find award-winning movies and TV shows.

If you are into sports, you may like Mobdro, which is also free.  And LiveNetTV will let you access many categories, such as lifestyle, kids, sports, and entertainment.

Other apps that work well with this Fire stick include TVTap, HD Streamz, BBC News, and Filelinked.
